The 4 Days Mahakam River Safari Tour is one of the great tours available to anyone who is passing through east Borneo and wanting to see some of the sights of Borneo as well as seeing some of the natural sights and the learning about and seeing the culture of the Dayak people who are the main indigenous proportion of the population of the Indonesian part of Borneo.

Day 1 Arrive Balikpapan
The 4 Days Mahakam River Safari Tour and Dayak Longhouse Tour begins with pick up from the Sepinggan Airport by your guide who will take you to the Loajanan via a traditional boat which is the only real way to negotiate the jungles and mangroves of east Borneo. You will eat and sleep on the boat in the simple quarters with simple pleasures.

Day 2 Mahakam River Tour
On the second day of the 4 Days Mahakam River Safari Tour and Dayak Longhouse Tour you will stop at Muara Muntai to see the local villages made from wood and then after experiencing this traditional and cultural village you will then set off by a motorized traditional canoe over the Jempang Lake and over the Ohong River in order to see the incredible sights of the Manchong village ad the Dayak tribes lives timeless in the area.

Day 3 Mahakam Tour
The third day of the 4 Days Mahakam River Safari Tours Dayak Longhouse sees breakfast in the boat followed by sightseeing all around the Malak area and then onto the safari where you see the Papas Eheng traditional longhouse and all of the local areas including a chance to see and shop around the local markets. You will also see a the old trees of the rainforest in the area ad the royal cemetery before trekking through the jungle and then returning to the boat where you will relax and dine and then spend some much needed sleep after this eventful day.

Day Mahakam Local Market Tour - Departure
On the fourth day of the 4 Days Mahakam River Safari Tour and Dayak Longhouse Tour you will then visit another market local to the area as well more royal cemeteries and the museum of Kutai Kertanegara which is where the remains of the Sultan’s palace lie and you will be able to see all of the different treasures and artifacts with all of the history of the area told in a very interesting way. This incredible area harbors a wonderful culture as well as a fascinating history and with a return from here across the lake to Loajanan you will head to Balikpapan where you will dine and sleep before you then make a move to your next destination from the air port of Balikpapan with a great adventure behind you and some incredible photographs to show your friends of this lesser traveled beautiful region of Indonesia and South East Asia.
