Destination Information:
The Ijen and Mount Bromo Tour offers three nights stay and a broader range of sights than some of the other tours. As with most of the tours Ijen Trekking and Mount Bromo Tour starts from Bali where you will be picked up by the air conditioned transport and begins the journey up the west coast of Bali to the Gilimanuk ferry port. On the way up you will pass the traditional villages of Bali and the luscious rice fields a well as the western conservation park, the crossing to East Java is only 45 minutes. 

Once you arrive in East Java you will be able to compare the new sights with the sights of Bali. You will spend the first night at Ijen Resort in the small town of Banyuwangi where you sleep in this peaceful area on the edge of the rainforest and foothills that lead to the volcanic peaks. The next morning you will wake up early and after a breakfast in the recommended hotel you will then drive on to the steeping slope of the Mount Ijen passing the local countryside as you go. After a stop at the rangers post in order to gain clearance as notify the ranger of your plans you will make the ascent to the very peak. This one hour hike leads you to the peak where you will arrive just before sunrise and be able to lookout over the land of Java and even see the island of Bali where you have begun the trip. The crater itself is a deep lake of turquoise water with crystal clear cliffs surrounding it. There is one area where the cliffs have broken away and there is dam made of the natural materials that prevent and regulate the flow of water into the river. This is truly a beautiful sight to behold.

Upon your return there will be a break for refreshment and then Ijen Trekking and Mount Bromo Tour  continues back down the peak in the morning light and then you will return to Banyuwangi for a tour of the town and then stay once more overnight. After rising for breakfast you will then proceed to Muncar, which is the most active and vibrant fishing port in Java. From here you will then see Kalibaru, which is a plantation of coffee, rubber and cacao. Lunch will be served in Jembar before proceeding to your next hotel, which is located in the foot lands of Mount Bromo.

The next morning is another early start where you will climb the Bromo peak again in time for the sunrise over this magical land, you will by this point have had an excellently rounded trip of the area and later after an opportunity to visit the traditional markets for souvenirs and then carry on back to Bali. All costs are included in the tour so it is only necessary to bring minimal extra money.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1 : Surabaya – Bromo ( L – D )
Pick up in the morning from your hotel in Bali (Sanur/Kuta/Nusa Dua area) and our private AC vehicle and the tour guide will escort you to the west Seaport of Bali through scenic west coast. Stop for photos of some terraced rice fields, rustic villages, surging surf beaches during the two and a half hour drive to Gilimanuk. Short ferry-crossing over the Strait to Java. Lunch at local restaurant before drive to Bromo ( Tosari ). Dinner and night at Bromo Cottage.

Day 2 : Bromo – Ijen Resort ( B – L – D )
Early wake-up call, at 03h00 before dawn. Leave the hotel for Cemoro Lawang, about 1 hour drive, to get to the closest point from where starts the discovery of Bromo volcano. The trip continues on horse-back to cross the sand-sea to get to the feet of mount Bromo. The spectacular view of the range of volcanoes (Bromo, Batok and Semeru) is unveiled along with the rise of the morning sun. Afterward drive back to the hotel for breakfast and preparation for a departure to Banyuwangi. After 5 hours drive, in the afternoon you will be arrived at Ijen Resort and Villas. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 3 : Ijen Resort – Ijen Crater ( B – L – D )
After an early wake-up call and breakfast, a four-wheel drive vehicle carries you through the rural villages, coffee and clove plantations and then into one of Java’s last rain forests. Humidity, wildlife, giant ferns and big trees cover the slope of the mountain, to arrive at the Park Ranger’s post to begin the 90 minutes hike to the rim of Ijen Crater, along a shady track with spectacular views. The stunning view is unveiled at 2380 meters altitude. The lake eerie color and smoke wafting from bright yellow sulfur deposits create the landscape both desolate, barren and vibrantly alive. Watching miners descending into the crater and finding them re-emerge carrying up to 80 kilos of ore on bamboo baskets along the treacherous path is a breathtaking reality. Afterward walk down the mountain. Return to hotel for lunch, afternoon free at leisure. Dinner and night at Ijen Resort.

Day 4 : Ijen Resort – Plantation – Denpasar ( B – L )
Leaving in the morning to a beautifully located plantation of coffee. This is one of the many plantations, which was established by Dutch colonial government in this area. Banyuwangi has a concentration of plantations of coffee, cocoa, clove and rubber. All those plantations are still very well maintained and represent the most important economic resource of in the area.Lunch at local restaurant, afterward drive the port and then cross the strait and back to Denpasar. Arrive at the end of afternoon.
