Destination Information:
The 16 day Baliem Valley, Yali & Tree house Tribes Papua Tour begins with your domestic flight from Jakarta or Bali to the Jayapura at available times. On the second day you will arrive at Jayapura where you will meet the guide and then head to the hotel where you will eat lunch and then visit the markets as well as the Sentani town before dinning in a restaurant and sleeping at your hotel. Day three begins with breakfast and then you will head to the airport to go to Wamena where you will transfer to Baliem Pilamo Hotel and then visit the traditional villages and markets before dining in the Mas\Budi restaurant. After lunch you will head north to see the mummies of Jiwika and as well as seeing to Dani pig feast and dance before returning to the hotel.

On day 4 of the 16 day Baliem Valley, Yali & Tree house Tribes Papua Tour you will take a missionary charter flight to Kosarek where you will meet the Yali Mek in the southwest of Wamena. Life is still very much traditional here even after missionary presence for 30 years. These people have been known to practice cannibalism in the past though now you can pass the Walsaldek village and Tenkomne and safely reach Wiring Hill in 2 hours. Over the next few days you will visit Telambela where you can relax and enjoy the traditional entertainment with a hog roast, Helariki where you will trek through jungles, the Osonggobak Mountain and village. You will then see the Angguruk area with the steep decent to another village before charting another plane to Yaniruma for the tree house tribes of Sekom and Dairam.

On day 11 of the 16 day Baliem Valley, Yali & Tree house Tribes Papua Tour you will explore the tree houses of the Korowai and Kombi tribes who are very primal and practise ritual cannibalism within there internal culture. You will see the rain forest and the swamp areas as well as travelling locals hunting before spending the over night stay in a tree house or tent. By the 14th day you will trek back to the plane drop off point where you can swim in the river before flying. On day 15 you will have returned to civilization fly back to Jayapura where you will see the World War II monument and go shopping for all sorts of souvenirs.
