Destination Information:
The 11 Day Angguruk Trek begins with your transferal from your hotel in Jakarta or Bali to a hotel in Sentani Jayapura where you will dine n a restaurant known as Mickey Restaurant before retiring to your hotel. On the second day of the tour who will fly to Wamena where you will check into the Baliem Pilamo Hotel before heading to the Lani Village in Napua as well as the Sinatrna traditional market. After dining in the Mas Budi Restaurant you will then head to another traditional market area before seeing the Suroba Village and the Aikima Village passing traditional hanging bridges on the way. You will then check into the Baliem Pilamo Hotel for diner and your overnight stay.

The 11 Day Angguruk Trek will then take you on a missionary flight to Kosarek where you will see the Yali (Mek) people of the southeast of Wamena. You will see the traditional life of these people which has not been much changed culturally by the arrivals of the missionaries. These people have practiced cannibalism in the past as well as being known to be great farmers and extremely resourceful in remote areas. You will stay in the Walsaldek Village on the Tenkomne River. Here you will carry on up the hill to the Wiring Hill for lunch and your overnight stay. The next day you will see the Tipson Waterfall in the Isril Mountains before crossing a traditional hanging bridge over the Lilom River to get to the Pimohon Village where you will continue on finishing after a long hike at Telambela where you will stay and eat at the bible teacher’s house.

Day 5 offers a pig feast and entertainments including dancing and as well as other festivities giving you the chance to observe the culture and take a break after the long treks. Say six and you will back on the move to the Tumolo River where you will see the Punum Village and the surrounding beauty of it. You will be able to swim in the waterfall and se the birds such as Cockatoos. The 7th day begins with a difficult trek involving a step river bank before heading up the Osonggobak Mountain in one hour and heading the local village where you will stay the night.

On day 8 of the Day Angguruk Trek you will then do down the Obahek River and stay n the missionary houses around the Angguruk area as well as visiting the local hospital. The ninth day sees breakfast before heading to the airstrip where you will charter a flight to Wamena and check into the comfort of the Baliem Pilamo Hotel as well as seeing the old mummy in Jiwika and the Dani ceremonies in the Anemoigi village. The penultimate day begins at the restaurant and then you will head to Jayapura by plane, check into your hotel and see the Mc Arthur monument, the Sentani Lake and the Bark Paintings. After lunch you till visit the Cendrawasih museum and the Hamadi market before turning in ready to leave to your next destination on day 11.
